I completed a class two weeks ago, I'm going back for a different one in the next 2 weeks. I'm really obsessed i felt like i was in taste heaven.
Just completed the ramen and soba noodle class at Umami Food Studio and I was so impressed. This isn't your typical cooking class—it's a masterclass.
Rany Jo takes you deep into what actually matters: crafting exceptional broths, sourcing quality ingredients, and layering complex flavors. Every detail is covered with precision and expertise. She knows her craft inside and out and has the rare ability to communicate that knowledge accessibly.
This class works for everyone. Whether you're a complete beginner looking to
understand the basics or an experienced chef wanting to refine your approach, there's something here for you.
If you're interested in ramen at any level, I'd highly recommend this class. You won't just learn how to make a bowl of ramen; you'll understand the philosophy and technique behind it. Well worth it.
As a chef myself I learn new things everytime I do these classes. Rany is a wealth of knowledge teaching even me, a chef of over 30 years, new tricks. I did the first classes because my daughter loves Asian food. 8 classes in and I learn something new everytime. Her techniques are simple for even the novice cook. Her recipes are easy to follow at home. My 15 year old has done all the classes with me and a couple with her brother. She uses the techniques she's learned in her everyday cooking.
I highly recommend doing one of these classes.
I’m obsessed with Umami Food Studio! Two orders in and I’m blown away by the quality and service.
The salted lemon paste is magic. It adds the perfect salty citrus depth to savory dishes like chicken marinades, seafood, and soups. But it also shines in sweets. I’ve used it in homemade ice cream, lemon loaf cake, salted lemon cheesecake, and shortbread cookies.
Can’t recommend it enough!
I really love their Kimchi - it is the best in the country if not the Southern Hemisphere. Ordering 3 KGs again today.
Been buying from Rany for years. My kids love the spring rolls (so good in the air fryer) and the rice balls. I’m obsessed with the dumplings and dipping sauces: so easy to prepare but seriously delicious. Perfect for snacks, entertaining, or a quick meal when I’m home alone. 👍👍
