Two pairs. One table. Japan's classic wedding gift.

In Japan, newlyweds are given chopsticks. One black pair, one red pair, made to match. We brought the tradition to South Africa, boxed and ready to give.

  • Made in Japan
  • 2 pairs + 2 petal sauce bowls that double as rests
  • Gift-boxed and gift-wrapped by us, ready to give

Why it's a classic wedding gift

  • Japan: a bridge between two people. "Hashi" (chopsticks) sounds like "bridge". It also means picking up good fortune together.
  • Korea: balance and harmony. Two sticks, one job. Together they make a whole.
  • China: happiness, fast. "Kuài" (chopsticks) sounds like "fast": a wish that happiness arrives quickly.
  • Black and red: the husband-and-wife colours. In Japan they're called meoto-bashi. Both pairs here are the same length, so either can be yours.
  • They're used every day. Not a gift that sits in a cupboard.
